Nutrition and wellness are 80% mindset and 20% what we eat. When we choose quick fixes, we are depending on something outside of us to “fix us” and it does, but only temporarily.
Doing the internal work, ourselves, takes time and effort, but the results are sustainable and permanent, you don’t only lose weight and become healthier, your whole life changes. It is not easy for us to do the work, there are many changes we have to go through in order to get the desired outcome, and many times, our subconscious and old beliefs get in the way.
The key is to be persistent, hold ourselves accountable and to a high standard, being conscious of what we really want, no matter what circumstances come our way. Then losing weight and staying healthy becomes a natural process.
Quick fixes always equal quick results, but temporary, and sometimes backfires and make things worse. We have to learn how to lovingly treat our bodies and have a vision of how we want to look and be. Quick fixes might help you lose 10 lbs. in a week, but then after the quick diet, you may gain twice the amount of pounds and some of your organs affected, for example the kidneys, liver, or even the heart.
A better choice is to start slow, with acceptance of ourselves and having a clear picture of what we want. Determination, patience, discipline, and persistence are incorporated when you want to achieve permanent results and change your lifestyle.
Most of the time we choose the quick fixes or the easy way because we avoid doing the work, because let’s be honest, it can be painful, it might take time, it might challenge our beliefs, it might be difficult, but at the end of the day it is so worth it, you will be looking back and grateful for all you’ve done and went through.
